• Tamarack Resort as of March 4, 2009 has ceased services. Originally announced in 2003, the resort was met with much fanfare, including $500 Million worth of commitment to new home developments, condos, restaurants, a luxury hotel surrounding world class skiing and slopes. Everything flourished...then it happened. Former President Geroge W. Bush visited for a hiking trip in 2005 and they are now in foreclosure. Go figure. Ha! #
• Travelling on a tight budget? Trip Advisor has your back! They just launched a new Beta program that will let you search 1000s of low fares and find out exactly what your flight will cost including baggage fees, taxes, security costs and all the other fine fine print items that show up unexpectedly once you click confirm purchase. Its about time someone came up with a cool service idea! #
• US Airways recently announced that it will reverse its beverage purchase program, which imposed a $1 charge for coffee and tea, and $2 for soft drinks and bottle water. I remember flying US Airways a few months ago when the "program" was first implemented. Most of those on-board were not happy about paying $2 for some water. I decided to just stay thirsty for the remainder of my flight. I'm glad they realized this was one 'cost-saving' tactic that wasn't going to work. #
• Although the official "Day of Love" has passed us for 2009. Travel + Leisure lists the 10 spots Singles should avoid on Valentine's Day. From Paris to the Bahamas to candlelight dinners with non-love interests (as if thats not a given). Its all here! A little heads up for next year. #
