Want to make sure you avoid any wet t-shirts this spring? Forbes Traveler features great places for grown-ups to break such as:
Zihuatanejo, Mexico
Costa Rica
According to the NY Times spring travel, especially this month should be carefully planned and timed in order to catch the best deals. Easter falls earlier this year and spring vacations for school-aged children and college students may also fall earlier as well. Thus, causing a crunch in vacation time and increases in prices at some destinations.

I don’t know about you, but I’m so over winter…and ready to spring off to somewhere sunny and relaxing. So check out these deals and start planning your spring-time getaway. Don’t forget to send us a postcard!!

Beaches, Museums, Theme Parks…so overdone!

For an alternative, semi-educational, and socially concious vacation alternative, try Parque Eco Alberto, an illegal immigrant “border-crossing experience” theme park.

The eco-park is communally owned by the Hñahñu Indians who live on some 3,000 acres of land in the state of Hidalgo, about three hours northwest of Mexico City (and roughly 700 miles from the border).

So, apparently you go to this park and the cost is about $18 US Dollars per person, you get a tour leader that takes you over the hills and through the brush simulating what people experience when attempting to cross the border illegally. An entire article was written about it in The New York Times (article) this is real folks!

I got the idea of this alternative vacation from a “Fellow Blogger“. So, if you ever decide to take a trip to Parque EcoAlberto or if you’ve ever been give us a shout…talk me into going!
