Tennis superstars, Serena and Venus Williams, attended the Sony Ericsson Women’s Tennis Association tour Pre-Wimbeldon party at Kensington Roof Gardens this Thursday.

Roof Gardens is owned by British mogul and Virgin president, Sir Richard Branson. Located in central London near Kensington High Street, the property maintains 1.5 acres of themed gardens and has remarkable views of London’s skyline. The roof gardens is also considered a historical site, and is open to the public for visitation, except when private events are held and on club nights. It is strongly recommended to check availability first.

Visit the gardens by day, then come back and party at the Roof Gardens’ nightclub later on.
Club hours: Fridays and Saturdays. 10pm - 3am.
Admission: October - April, Friday: £15 & Saturday: £20. May - September, Friday: £20 & Saturday: £25.

To avoid the queue (going back to my London days) on club nights, you can join the club at various membership levels such as: Fly Higher, High Flyer, Long Haul, and they even have a Jet Set level. My kind of club!

Super producer, artist, and clothing line designer, Pharrell and fellow members of his group N.E.R.D, held an instore Meet and Greet album signing at The Hideout clothing store this past Wednesday. The Hideout is located on Upper James Street between Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus.














Also on Wednesday, Will Smith and co-star, Charlize Theron, walked the red carpet at the premiere of their new movie, Hancock, in Leicester Square. When I heard about Alicia Keys’ initiative to spread awareness about the devastating AIDS epidemic in Africa through her documentary, Alicia in Africa: A Journey to the Motherland, I knew that I wanted to learn more about it. Alicia has also been instrumental in affecting change through her foundation Keep a Child Alive, which has been responsible for providing families and children with treatment and care in which they would otherwise be unable to afford.

The documentary chronicles Alicia’s month-long trip to Africa as she visits communities affected by HIV and AIDS. Directed by South African filmmaker Earle Sebastian, the real life stories of families in the film are both heartbreaking and inspiring.

It is a dream of mine to visit Africa, but it is a bigger dream that the pain and suffering caused by AIDS throughout this continent will cease. I commend Alicia for doing her part, and I have definitely been inspired to do mine.

Saint-Tropez

However, they aren’t the only celebrities that make this village along the French Riviera their top vacation spot. Celebs such as Oprah Winfrey, Quincy Jones, Barbra Streisand, Jack Nicholson, Robert DeNiro, Beyonce, and Elton John have visited St. Tropez. The best time to catch celebs like these is in July, prime beach-lounging season. The Hotel Guru has located some inexpensive and mid-priced hotels in St. Tropez, such as Hotel Les Palmiers (with rooms from 86-187 Euros/night)and La Ponche (rooms available for 155 Euros/night).

St. Barth
St. Barth (also known as St. Bart or St. Barthelemy) has also become reknown for its influx of famous visitors. This tiny island is only eight square miles in size. St. Barth, which is located in the eastern Caribbean near St. Martin, has a significant French influence. The best time to go ’star’ gazing is the two-week period starting before Christmas through the New Year.

The island has attracted celebs such as Denzel Washington, Clive Davis, Usher, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Mariah Carey, Penelope Cruz, Kimora Lee Simmons, Enrique Iglesias and his tennis star girlfriend, Anna Kournikova. International models love St. Barths, as it was the location for a Victoria’s Secret photo shoot. Because this island is small, demand for lodging is high. However, The New York Times provides some affordable ways to visit St. Barts.
